Secretary Traveling in Middle East With President |
Secretary Rice is traveling with the President and Mrs. Bush to Israel, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt from May 13-18, 2008. The President's visit to Israel celebrated Israel's 60th anniversary and our close ties over the past six decades. In Saudi Arabia, President Bush met with King Abdallah to commemorate the 75th anniversary of formal diplomatic relations between the United States and Saudi Arabia.

Earthquake Assistance to China |
Department Spokesman McCormack (May 16): "...The United States has provided $500,000 in cash assistance to China. ...Also, the Chinese Government has agreed to a U.S. offer to provide airlifted relief supplies, including tents, food, blankets, generators and other supplies.
